“Nissan Leads Local Car Sales, Toyota Dominates Imports in Q1 2024”<\/h1>\n

In the first quarter of 2024, Nissan secured the top spot in locally assembled car sales, while Toyota emerged as the leader in imported car sales.<\/p>\n

Locally assembled car sales experienced a 10.8% decline, dropping to over 7,000 units compared to approximately 7,900 units in Q1 2023, as reported by the Automotive Market Information Council (AMIC).<\/p>\n

Conversely, imported car sales surged by 44% to reach 6,300 units in Q1 2024, up from about 4,300 units in the same period last year.<\/p>\n

Nissan, the Japanese automaker, dominated the locally assembled car market, capturing a 39.3% share with sales of 2,700 units.<\/p>\n

Following closely, the Chinese brand Chery – Ghabour claimed second place with a 26.8% market share and sales of 1,900 units,<\/p>\n

while Hyundai fell to third place with a 23.5% market share and sales of 1,600 units.<\/p>\n

BYD secured the fourth position with an 8.1% market share and sales of 575 units.<\/p>\n

In the imported car segment, Toyota led the pack with a 22.6% market share and sales of 1,400 units, according to the AMIC report.<\/p>\n

MG followed in second place with an 18% market share and sales of 1,100 units,<\/p>\n
