In January, Chery Ghabbour emerged as Egypt’s top-selling private car, while Toyota led imported car sales.<\/h1>\n

Locally assembled car sales saw a significant 20.3% decline, totaling 2.5 thousand units in January 2024, compared to 2.1 thousand in January 2023, as reported by the Automotive Market Information Council (AMIC).<\/p>\n

Imported car sales plummeted by 72.6% to 2.2 thousand units in January, down from 1.3 thousand in January 2023.<\/p>\n

Chery – Ghabbour, a Chinese brand, claimed the lion’s share of locally assembled private car sales, capturing 35% of the market with 886 units sold in January.<\/p>\n

Hyundai rose to second place with a 26% market share, selling 665 cars,<\/p>\n

Peugeot ranked twelfth with a 1.5% market share and 34 cars sold, while Geely Abu Ghali came thirteenth with a 1.3% share and 29 cars sold.<\/p>\n
