Toyota Leads Bus Sales with 28.3% Market Share in 2024
Toyota has secured the largest share of bus sales in Egypt during the first 10 months of 2024, selling 1,600 buses, which accounts for 28.3% of the total market sales.
However, overall bus sales have seen a decline of 15.6% compared to the same period in 2023.
A total of 5,600 buses were sold in the first 10 months of 2024, down from around 6,700 buses
during the same period last year.
According to the latest monthly report from the Automotive Market Information Council (AMIC), locally assembled bus sales decreased by 18.5%, with more than 4,000 units sold in 2024 compared to 4,900 units in the previous year.
In contrast, imported bus sales increased by 7.4% year-on-year, with 1,600 buses sold in the first 10 months of 2024, up from 1,700 units in the same period in 2023.
In terms of brand performance, Chevrolet ranked second with a 25.4% market share, selling 1,600 buses.
Golden Dragon followed in third place with a 16.3% share, selling 926 buses.
King Long secured fourth place with a 13.8% share, selling 783 buses, while Mitsubishi held the fifth spot with a 6.7% market share and 383 buses sold.
Foton moved up to sixth place with a 3.6% share, selling 205 buses, while MCV Mercedes dropped to seventh place with a 3.1% share, selling 178 buses.
Lastly, Suzuki ranked eighth with a 1.5% market share, selling 83 buses during the first 10 months of 2024.
