The new fees for car registration with the real estate registration and transfer of ownership have begun

The Real Estate Registration and Documentation Authority has begun implementing car registration fees and their relative fees for the year 2024 for cars (rentals, owners, and electric cars).

The Auto Club website obtained a schedule issued by the Real Estate Registration and Authentication Authority, and the fees are determined according to the model of the car to be registered.

2024 Car Registration Fees: New Charges and Process Revealed

The table contains the fees for signing the contract, the contract fees, and administrative fees. After signing the contract, the Traffic Department is notified of this matter, so the administration can transfer the car license in the name of the buyer instead of the name of the seller, and the fees are set according to the purchase value of the car that is registered in the real estate registry.

Zain pointed out that the fees are determined according to the year of manufacture, starting from 2014 until 2024, in addition to the kilowatts, which start from 200 kilowatts and reach more than 300 kilowatts.

He explained that electric cars were facing difficulty in transferring ownership, as they were listed under the heading of “unappreciated goods,” and registration fees were assessed at 2% of the total price, including customs duties, upon each sale of the car, in addition to fees for the Bar Association’s certification of contracts. Selling by 1%, which negatively affects the spread of electric cars in the Egyptian market.
