In an unexpected move this October, Al-Mansour Automotive Company, the official dealer for MG in Egypt, announced significant price hikes across several MG models. Customers will see increases from 50,000 to 70,000 Egyptian pounds on select vehicles, as reflected in the latest pricing list.

MG RX5 Plus

The sporty MG RX5 Plus SUV models saw the steepest increase, with prices climbing by approximately 70,000 pounds. The “Comfort” trim is now priced at 1.27 million pounds, while the “Luxury” trim reached 1.32 million pounds. This 2023 model boasts a turbocharged 1500 cc engine with 171 horsepower and 250 Newton-meters of torque, paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.8 seconds, with an average fuel consumption of 6.8 liters per 100 km.

MG 5

For the MG 5 sedan, the price rose by about 50,000 pounds across its variants. The entry-level “STANDARD” is now listed at 740,000 pounds, with the “Comfort” and “Luxury” trims priced at 780,000 and 810,000 pounds, respectively. Under the hood, the 2023 MG 5 features a 1500 cc engine, delivering 120 horsepower and 150 Newton-meters of torque.

MG ZS

Similar to the MG 5, the MG ZS models also incurred a price increase of approximately 50,000 pounds. The “Comfort” trim level prices are set at 855,000 for the second tier and 870,000 pounds for the third tier, while the “Luxury” trim tops the range at 890,000 pounds. This compact SUV comes with a 1500 cc engine capable of 123 horsepower and 135 Newton-meters of torque, linked to a four-speed automatic gearbox.

MG 6

The 2023 MG 6 sedans were not spared from the price adjustments, experiencing an approximate surge of 70,000 pounds. The luxurious “Luxury – Red Interior” trim now demands a million pounds, and the “Luxury – Black Interior” trim comes with a price tag of 1.020 million pounds. Featuring a 1500 cc turbo engine, this model produces 169 horsepower and 250 Newton-meters of torque, and is equipped with a seven-speed automatic transmission.

The price adjustments reflect a market trend where automobile prices are subject to change due to various economic factors. For potential buyers, this could mean re-evaluating budget plans to accommodate the new pricing structure of MG vehicles.
