Sales of locally assembled buses saw a sharp decline of approximately 54.7% in February.
In February of this year, sales of locally assembled buses experienced a significant drop, plummeting to 546 buses, in contrast to the 1.2 thousand buses sold during the same period last year, marking a substantial decline of 54.7%.
According to the Automotive Market Information Council (AMIC) report, the sales of imported buses also witnessed a decline during the same period. Approximately 495 buses were sold, compared to about 370 buses in the corresponding period of 2023, reflecting a decrease of 33.8%.
The brand “Toyota” dominated the bus market in February 2023, capturing a staggering 56% share and selling around 290 buses. Following closely, the “Chevrolet” brand secured the second position with a market share of about 26%, selling over 133 buses.
“King Long” emerged as the third-highest seller with an 8% market share, selling approximately 44 buses. Meanwhile, “Golden Dragon” slipped to the fourth position, claiming about 3% of the market share, with sales exceeding 16 buses. “Mitsubishi” followed closely, ranking fifth with a similar market share and sales volume.
In sixth place, the “Suzuki” brand garnered a 3% market share, selling a total of 14 buses. The commercial brand “Volvo” ascended to the seventh spot, capturing approximately 1% of the market share with sales of around 4 buses.
Lastly, the Mercedes brand secured the eighth position with the sale of 2 buses, completing the list of top-selling buses for the month of February.
