Egyptian Group for Public Insurance: Licensing 34.4K Vehicles in January

The Egyptian Compulsory Vehicle Insurance Association, in collaboration with Al-Ahram Foundation, released data on car licensing for January.

The report indicated that approximately 34.4 thousand vehicles received insurance documents. This included 2,606 vehicles from 2020, 4,281 from 2021, 7,510 from 2022, 8,231 from 2023, and 11,819 from 2024.

Private Cars:

Among these were 11.3 thousand private cars, comprising 402 from 2020, 216 from 2021, 605 from 2022, 2,947 from 2023, and 7,214 from 2024.

Motorcycles:

The total number of motorcycles licensed stood at 20.5 thousand, with 2,204 from 2020, 3,888 from 2021, 6,383 from 2022, 4,735 from 2023, and 3,373 from 2024.

Transport Vehicles:

There were also 14.9 thousand transport vehicles, including 90 from 2021, 306 from 2022, 252 from 2023, and 845 from 2024.

Overall Ranking:

For the first time, Mercedes claimed the top spot with 1,209 vehicles, followed by Chevrolet (1,077), Kia (1,027), Chery (875), and MG (871).

Electric Vehicles:

579 electric vehicles were licensed, with Volkswagen leading at 262, followed by ID4 (83), and Amabi ED’s Song Plus (40).

Traffic Units:

The New Cairo Traffic Unit topped the list with 1,177 licensed vehicles, followed by Hadayek Al-Ahram and Nasr City. Salloum port saw 9,392 vehicle entries.

Fuel Types:

January saw 45.6 thousand licensed vehicles, including 579 electric, 31.6 thousand gasoline, 11.2 thousand diesel, and 10.8 thousand dual-fuel vehicles.
