Egyptian Association Reports Over 17.9K Vehicles Licensed in June: Chevrolet Leads, Followed by Nissan in Private Cars

Chevrolet Tops the Vehicle Licenses Market

In June, the Egyptian Compulsory Insurance Association’s monthly report revealed that approximately 17.9 thousand vehicles, including cars, transport vehicles, and motorcycles, were licensed.

The report detailed that insurance policies were issued for around 1.3 thousand vehicles of the 2020 model, about 2.5 thousand of the 2021 model, 6.2 thousand of the 2022 model, roughly 7 thousand of the 2023 model, and 730 of the 2024 model.

In the overall ranking of compulsory insured vehicles, Chevrolet took the lead with 903 cars. Nissan followed closely with 722 cars, then Renault with 568 cars, Chery with 537 cars, and Kia with 517 cars. Suzuki secured the sixth position with 463 vehicles, Hyundai the seventh with 452 cars, BYD the eighth with 415 vehicles, Mercedes the ninth with 354 vehicles, and Toyota rounded out the top ten with 333 vehicles.

Nissan Leads in Private Car Licenses

In June, about 6.9 thousand private cars were issued insurance documents and licenses, including 250 of the 2020 model, 151 of the 2021 model, roughly 1.4 thousand of the 2022 model, 4.8 thousand of the 2023 model, and 371 of the 2024 model.

Nissan led the ranking for private car licenses with 646 cars, followed by Renault with 564 cars, Chery with 536 cars, Kia with 517 cars, Hyundai with 447 cars, and Suzuki with 434 cars. In the seventh place was BYD with 393 cars, then Skoda with 332 cars, Volkswagen with around 330 cars, and Mercedes with about 314 cars.

Transport Vehicle Licensing

For transport vehicles, around 925 licenses were issued, which included 10 vehicles of the 2020 model, 46 vehicles of the 2021 model, 228 of the 2022 model, 229 of the 2023 model, and 342 of the 2024 model.

Chevrolet led in transport vehicle licensing with 591 cars, followed by Nissan with about 75 cars, Toyota with 36 cars, Suzuki with about 26 cars, and Mitsubishi with 20 cars.

Motorcycle Licensing

Approximately 9.4 thousand motorcycles were issued insurance documents, including about a thousand of the 2020 model, 2.2 thousand of the 2021 model, around 4.5 thousand of the 2022 model, 1.6 thousand of the 2023 model, and one of the 2024 model.

Vehicle Licensing by Fuel Type

The report also detailed the licensing of cars by fuel type, with about 374,551 vehicles licensed in total, which included 139 electric cars, 270,591 petrol cars, 84,376 diesel cars, 9,387 petrol and natural gas cars, and 40 natural gas cars.
