Dalia Al-Jabri Assumes Chairmanship of Shell Egypt’s Board
Shell PLC has officially appointed Dalia Al-Jabri as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors for Shell Companies in Egypt, succeeding Khaled Qassem. Effective December 1, 2023, Al-Jabri takes the helm after Qassem’s leadership over the past four and a half years.
In her preceding role as the Commercial General Manager of Shell Egypt, Al-Jabri played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s growth strategy. Her efforts included fostering integration across diverse business sectors and fortifying collaboration with relevant authorities. Al-Jabri actively led commercial negotiations for numerous business development opportunities, cultivating trust among partners and stakeholders.
Al-Jabri boasts a 28-year career encompassing integrated gas industries, exploration, production, projects, and technology. She held diverse positions within Shell branches in Norway, Morocco, the Netherlands, South Africa, and Qatar. Additionally, Al-Jabri held significant leadership roles in Finance, including her tenure as Managing Director of the former JV BapetcoShell.
Expressing her vision, Al-Jabri stated, “We are committed to accelerating our business activities to realize our growth aspirations. I will persist in steering Shell’s efforts to align with Egypt’s vision, supporting ongoing initiatives to unlock the energy sector’s full potential as a catalyst for national growth and sustainable development.”
During Khaled Qassem’s tenure, there was a notable improvement in the production of the company’s existing assets in Egypt. The company advanced through additional development stages, increased its stake in marine exploration, initiated an ambitious program for deepwater exploration in the Nile Delta, and executed various business development initiatives.
