The Consumer Protection Agency conducted a sweeping operation in 6th of October City, targeting a facility involved in recycling car engine oils. The factory was repackaging these oils, affixing labels bearing the names of renowned brands, with intentions to reintroduce them into the market. This deceptive practice posed a significant threat to the safety of vehicle drivers. A total of 13,000 liters of oil, devoid of any identifiable source or recorded data, were confiscated during the operation.

In addition to seizing the questionable oil, the authorities also confiscated the tools employed in the final filling and packaging processes. These tools included two iron tanks with a 12,000-liter capacity each for mixing and heating, a 20-liter filling line equipped with three taps, a rivet gluing machine, a plastic tank, three oil filling lines, four digital electronic scales, an air compressor for oil pumping, 4,000 empty jerry cans, 5,000 stickers, and 17 bottles of chemicals used for oil purification, each weighing 25 kg.

This commitment aims to instill market discipline, zero tolerance for violators, pursuit of fictitious entities, and the combatting of all forms of commercial fraud. Al-Sajini stressed the agency’s dedication to protecting consumers by preventing the circulation of goods with unidentified origins and specifications that do not meet market standards.
