The Chevrolet brand has led the pack in truck sales over the first five months of this year, garnering the largest market share of approximately 65.1% with a total of 3.4 thousand trucks sold.
“Auto Club” Tracks “Imported and Local” Truck Sales
Local truck sales have declined during the first five months of this year, with 4,000 trucks sold, down from 14.5 thousand in the same period last year, representing a drop of 71.8%.
Imported truck sales have also seen a significant decrease during the same period, with 1.2 thousand trucks sold, compared to 2 thousand trucks during the corresponding period, marking a decrease of 41.2%.
As per the monthly report of the Automotive Market Information Council (AMIC), Toyota has secured the second spot with a market share of approximately 11% and 98 trucks sold. Suzuki fell to third place with a market share of about 6% and 58 trucks sold.
The Fiat brand ranked fourth with a market share of 6% and 54 trucks sold, while Mercedes occupied the fifth position with a market share of approximately 3% and 24 trucks sold.
GMC followed in the sixth position with a market share of 2%, having sold 21 trucks, while Hyundai came in seventh after selling 12 units.
The eighth position on the list of best-selling truck brands in Egypt during the first five months of the year was held by Volvo, with sales of 4 trucks. Mitsubishi was in the ninth place, selling 3 trucks, while Shacman landed in the tenth spot with only one truck sold.
Overall truck sales have seen a decrease of about 68%, recording 5.2 thousand trucks sold over the past five months, as compared to 16.5 thousand trucks in the corresponding period of last year.
