AMIC: 37.8 Thousand Cars Sold in the Egyptian Market During the First Half of 2024

Sales in the Egyptian car market saw a slight increase of about 2.6% during the first half of 2024, reaching approximately 37.8 thousand cars, compared to over 36.8 thousand cars in the same period of 2023, according to the Automotive Market Information Council (AMIC).

Passenger Car Sales Surge

Sales of private passenger cars experienced a notable increase, reaching 29.2 thousand units—a growth of about 9% compared to 26.8 thousand units in the first half of 2023.

Decline in Truck and Bus Sales

  • Trucks: Sales of various categories of trucks declined by 6%, totaling 5.6 thousand units compared to 5.9 thousand units in the previous year.
  • Buses: Sales of buses recorded a significant decrease of about 25.8%, with 2.9 thousand units sold compared to 3.9 thousand units during the same period last year.
