Abu Ghali Motors Sanctions Price Hike of Up to EGP 150,000 for Geely Models
Abu Ghali Motors, the local dealer for the Chinese brand Geely, has sanctioned fresh hikes in the prices of its 2023 Geely Okavango and Cool Ray models. The increase begins at EGP 100,000 and peaks at EGP 150,000 for some categories offered in the local market during July.
Geely Okavango Car Prices Post-Increase
The price of the second-tier Okavango model, “Premium,” is now approximately EGP 1.3 million, up from about EGP 1.15 million — an increase of about EGP 150,000. The 2023 Okavango model, a seven-seater, features a 1500 cc hybrid engine, combined with an EMS-powered electric motor, delivering 190 horsepower and a maximum torque of 300 Newton/meter. It is paired with a seven-speed DCT WET transmission.
The Okavango can accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h in 11 seconds, with an average fuel consumption of about 6.6 liters per 100 km. It comes with safety features like airbags, anti-lock brakes, electronic brake distribution, an electronic stability system, HAC and HDC hill assist systems, ABS brake support systems, and a TPMS tire pressure monitoring system. Other notable features include fog lamps, LED daytime running lights, smart keyless start, electric mirrors, a Geely-branded front grille, a rear spoiler, automatic air conditioning, a 10.25-inch media screen, and 18-inch rims.
Geely Cool Ray Car Prices Break the One Million-Pound Barrier
The company also increased the price of the 2023 Cool Ray model. The entry-level “Comfort” is now priced at around EGP 900,000, up from EGP 800,000. The second-tier “Premium” model is priced at about EGP 1.019 million, up from EGP 900,000, and the newly introduced third-tier “Premium Black Rim” is priced at approximately EGP 1.029 million, an increase of about EGP 100,000 and EGP 119,000, respectively.
The Cool Ray features a 1500 cc turbo engine that delivers 175 horsepower and a torque of 255 Newton meters. It can accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds. Its fuel consumption is 6.6 liters per 100 km, ensuring high performance and fuel efficiency.
The Cool Ray is equipped with a 7-speed dual-clutch WET transmission, which has been tested for over 350,000 km, exceeding European requirements by 46%. Safety features include 6 airbags, anti-lock brakes (ABS), electronic brake distribution (EBD), slope descent control (HDC), a stabilizer, and a speed limiter. Other notable features include halogen headlights, carbon fiber side mirrors, LED daytime lighting, electric front seats, automatic air conditioning, fabric seat upholstery, an advanced electric handle for speed transmission, a multi-use automatic steering wheel, a sports spoiler, and 17-inch sports rims. The car is also equipped with a 6-speaker sound system and a 10.25-inch media screen.”
