Madbouly Inaugurates Geely Car Production Lines at Bavarian Factory
Prime Minister Engineer Mostafa Madbouly inaugurated the production lines for Geely cars at the Bavarian Automotive Manufacturing Company’s factory on 6th of October City.
This milestone aligns with Egypt’s strategy to bolster its local automobile industry and foster economic growth.

A Boost to Local Manufacturing
The project underscores Auto Mobility’s dedication to advancing local manufacturing.
The factory, with a 45% local production rate, features two production lines with an annual capacity of 10,000 cars.
This initiative supports Egypt’s automotive localization strategy, creating jobs and strengthening the national economy.
Engineer Fahd Ali Al-Ghanim stated, “Today, we mark a pivotal step in manufacturing Geely brand cars in Egypt, reaffirming our commitment to innovation and expanding into strategic markets. We’ve invested $100 million to make this vision a reality.”
He added, “Egypt stands as one of the most vital markets in the Middle East, offering immense opportunities for investment and industry, thanks to the visionary leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
We are proud to introduce the first Geely models manufactured locally: the Emgrand sedan in two variants and the Koray SUV in three variants, Model 2025.”
A Vision Beyond Manufacturing
Managing Director Othman Abdel Moneim emphasized, “This is not merely a factory inauguration; it’s the launch of a vision to elevate Egypt’s industrial standards. 
With Geely’s locally assembled models, we’re setting new benchmarks for quality, innovation, and affordability.”
Abdel Moneim also highlighted the broader impact of the project, including empowering Egyptian talent, generating diverse job opportunities, and positioning Egypt as a regional hub for automotive production.
Geely Models Unveiled
Geely Emgrand
The Geely Emgrand was launched in two variants:
- Comfort: Priced at EGP 850,000
- Luxury: Priced at EGP 970,000
The Emgrand features a 1.5L 1500cc engine producing 121 horsepower, with a 6-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.
It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 12.6 seconds and offers a fuel consumption rate of 6.4 liters per 100 km, making it an economical option for daily use.
Additional highlights include a 500-liter trunk capacity, 50-liter fuel tank, and a wheelbase of 2650 mm.
Geely Koray 2025
The Geely Koray 2025 SUV was introduced in three variants:
- Comfort: Priced at EGP 1,070,000
- Luxury: Priced at EGP 1,170,000
- Premium: Priced at EGP 1,270,000
Powered by a 1.5L turbocharged engine with 172 horsepower and 290 Nm of torque, the Koray features a 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.6 seconds.
Inside, the Koray offers a luxurious experience, including a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, ambient lighting, a leather multi-function steering wheel, and a six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat.
Auto Mobility’s Strategic Alliances
Auto Mobility, the official agent and manufacturer of Geely cars in Egypt, was established in 2023 through a partnership among leading automotive companies in the Middle East:
- Ali Alghanim & Sons Automotive Company (Kuwait)
- Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Automotive Company (Saudi Arabia)
- Al-Arjani Group (Egypt)
The company began operations in early 2024, focusing on delivering a premium experience for Geely car customers in Egypt, including exceptional sales and after-sales services.
