Nissan Leads Locally Assembled Car Sales in the First 10 Months of 2024

The Japanese automaker Nissan has dominated the sales of locally assembled passenger cars during the first ten months of 2024, securing a market share of 32.5% and selling 10,900 units.

According to the monthly report by the Automotive Market Information Council (AMIC), sales of locally assembled cars surged by 25.7%, reaching 33,700 units compared to 26,800 units in the same period of 2023.

Meanwhile, imported car sales experienced a modest rise of 9.9%, totaling 28,600 units, up from 26,000 units during the corresponding period in 2023.

Top Performers Among Locally Assembled Cars

Following Nissan, the Cherry – Ghabbour brand ranked second with a market share of 29.7%, achieving sales of more than 10,000 cars.

Other notable players included:

Leading Imported Car Brands

In the imported car segment, MG topped the charts with a 17.4% market share and sales of 4,900 units.

The second spot was claimed by Toyota, accounting for 16.4% of the market with 4,700 units sold.

Other prominent brands included:

  • Geely – Abu Ghaly: Seventh place, with 5% market share and 1,400 units sold.
  • Opel: Eighth place, with 3.6% market share and over 1,000 units sold.
  • Peugeot: Ninth place, accounting for 3.4% market share with 966 units sold.
  • BAIC: Tenth place, with 3.3% market share and 931 units sold.

Nissan also appeared among imported brands, taking 11th place with a 3.2% market share and 921 units sold.

The twelfth position was held by Hyundai, which achieved 3.1% market share and 885 units sold. Other brands collectively captured a 14.5% market share, with sales totaling 4,100 units.

Market Overview

The data reflects robust growth in the locally assembled car segment, with Nissan continuing to lead by a significant margin.

Imported car sales also show steady progress, underscoring the ongoing competition among global and regional automakers in the market.
