“AMIC”: 8.9 Thousand Sales of Locally Assembled Trucks in 10 Months

Sales of locally assembled trucks during the first 10 months of 2024 increased significantly, reaching 8.9 thousand trucks compared to 7.9 thousand trucks in the same period of 2023, reflecting a growth of 11.6%, according to the monthly report issued by the Automotive Market Information Council (AMIC).

In contrast, sales of imported trucks experienced a sharp decline during the same period, with only 1.4 thousand trucks sold compared to 2.3 thousand trucks in the previous year, marking a decrease of 38.5%.

Leading Brands in the Truck Market

The Chevrolet brand dominated truck market sales during the first 10 months of 2024, selling approximately 7.7 thousand trucks and achieving a commanding market share of 74.7%.amic-locally-assembled-truck-sales-2024

The “Toyota” brand secured second place with a market share of 10.3%, recording over 1,000 trucks sold. amic-locally-assembled-truck-sales-2024

Overall Market Performance

According to the AMIC report, total truck market sales during the first 10 months of 2024 rose slightly by 0.1% compared to the same period in 2023.

A total of 10.38 thousand trucks were sold, compared to approximately 10.37 thousand trucks in the previous year.

This performance underscores the resilience of locally assembled trucks amid challenging market conditions, while imported trucks faced a notable downturn.

The Chevrolet brand’s strong market presence continues to shape the competitive landscape, with other brands striving to increase their market shares in an evolving industry.
