Prime Minister Attends Al-Nasr Automotive Company’s Revival Celebration

First Batch of “Nasr Sky” Buses Delivered to Ministry of Transport Companies

Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly presided over a milestone event at Al-Nasr Automotive Company, marking the resumption of production at the historic bus factory after a 15-year hiatus.

The ceremony celebrated the delivery of the first batch of “Nasr Sky” buses to the Ministry of Transport companies and showcased the company’s advancements in electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing and battery production.

A Historic Celebration

The event commenced with a documentary highlighting Al-Nasr Automotive’s rich legacy and ongoing transformation.

Attendees included senior government officials, members of Parliament, and international diplomats.

Strategic Partnerships for EV Expansion

During the ceremony, the Prime Minister witnessed the signing of a pivotal contract between Al-Nasr Automotive and global partners, including Singaporean-Taiwanese firm Tron Technology and UAE-based Eur Transit. This partnership will establish a joint-stock company to manufacture electric mini buses and batteries.

  • By 2026, the company plans to produce 300 electric mini buses with a capacity of 24 passengers each.
  • Battery production is projected to reach 600 units by 2026, with output doubling by 2027.

This collaboration aligns with Egypt’s commitment to private sector partnerships and attracting foreign investments.

Bus Factory Tour

The Prime Minister toured the bus factory, inspecting production lines and development projects.

The facility, with an annual capacity of 300 buses, aims to scale up to 1,500 buses by 2027, achieving a local component ratio of 50% in its first phase, increasing to 60-70% in subsequent phases.

Notably, the buses are already being exported to Arab countries.

Delivery of “Nasr Sky” Buses

The first batch of “Nasr Sky” buses was handed over to the Ministry of Transport companies.

These state-of-the-art buses, with a capacity of 49 passengers and a length of 12 meters, are designed for comfort, safety, and advanced technology.

Passenger Car Factory Developments

The Prime Minister also inspected the passenger car factory development project. Construction is nearing completion, with production lines scheduled for installation next month.

Trial production of 20,000 cars per shift will begin by mid-2025, featuring a local component exceeding 45%.

The factory’s advanced design supports the simultaneous manufacturing of multiple car models, ensuring flexibility and efficiency.

Al-Nasr Automotive: A Legacy of Excellence

Founded in 1959, Al-Nasr Automotive was Egypt’s first car manufacturing company and a cornerstone of the nation’s industrial sector.

Spanning 900,000 square meters in Helwan’s Wadi Hof area, the company comprises nine factories.
