In May, the Egyptian market saw the licensing of over 27.5 thousand new vehicles, according to the monthly report from Al Majmaa’s Compulsory Vehicle Insurance.

This report highlights the substantial growth in vehicle registrations, reflecting a robust market and increased demand for vehicle insurance.

Breakdown of Licensed Vehicles

Total Number of Vehicles

The report revealed that the total number of vehicles for which insurance documents were issued included:

  • 2,775 vehicles for the 2021 model year
  • 4,491 vehicles for the 2022 model year
  • 4,859 vehicles for the 2023 model year
  • 15,352 vehicles for the 2024 model year
  • 26 vehicles for the 2025 model year

Private Cars

The number of newly insured and licensed private cars totaled 10,272. This included:

  • 317 cars from the 2021 model year
  • 591 cars from the 2022 model year
  • 1,477 cars from the 2023 model year
  • 7,863 cars from the 2024 model year

Motorcycles

The total number of insured and licensed motorcycles reached 15,337. This included:

  • 2,340 motorcycles from the 2021 model year
  • 3,608 motorcycles from the 2022 model year

  • 6,241 motorcycles from the 2024 model year
  • 2 motorcycles from the 2025 model year

The report also detailed the licensing of 1,272 transport vehicles, including:

  • 30 vehicles from the 2021 model year
  • 152 vehicles from the 2022 model year
  • 171 vehicles from the 2023 model year

Hyundai maintained its lead for the third consecutive month, registering 1,460 vehicles. The top ten manufacturers were:

  • Hyundai: 1,460 vehicles
  • Chevrolet: 1,025 vehicles
  • Kia: 860 vehicles
  • Mercedes: 800 vehicles
  • Toyota: 769 vehicles
  • Chery: 767 vehicles
  • MG: 693 vehicles
  • Nissan: 657 vehicles
  • Skoda: 662 vehicles
  • Mitsubishi: 436 vehicles

Private Car Rankings

In the private car category, Hyundai also led with 1,456 cars, followed by:

Transport Vehicle Rankings

For transport vehicles, Chevrolet took the top spot with 827 cars. The rankings were:
