Chevrolet Dominates Truck Market Sales in First Two Months of 2024

Locally assembled truck sales grew by 6.3%, while imported ones plummeted by 53.7%.

Sales of locally assembled trucks surged in the initial two months of 2024 to 1.6 thousand units, up from 1.5 thousand in the same period of 2023, marking a 6.3% increase, as per the monthly report by the Automotive Market Information Council (AMIC).

In contrast, imported truck sales saw a sharp decline during the same period, totaling 275 units compared to 594 units previously, marking a 53.7% decrease.

Chevrolet seized the top spot in truck market sales for the first two months of the year, capturing a commanding market share of 74.8% with sales reaching 1.4 thousand units.

Mitsubishi trailed in second place with a market share of approximately 9.1%, selling 180 units, followed by Toyota in third with an 8.4% market share and sales of 166 units.

Suzuki secured the fourth position with a 2.1% market share and sales of 41 units, while MCV/Mercedes came fifth with the same market share and sales figures.

Hyundai claimed sixth place, holding a 1.6% market share after selling 32 units, followed by GMC in seventh place with 14 units sold.

Volvo and Shacman rounded off the top brands list, securing eighth and ninth places respectively, with sales figures of 13 and 9 units each.

Overall, truck sales across various categories experienced a 17.3% decline, amounting to over 1.9 thousand units in the first two months of 2024 compared to 2.1 thousand units during the corresponding period in 2023.
