The Egyptian Society for Compulsory Insurance licensed 24.8 thousand vehicles last February,

 comprising 8,249 private cars, 14,538 motorcycles, and 1,231 transport vehicles

Al-Ahram Foundation released data from the Egyptian Compulsory Vehicle Insurance Association for February 2024, indicating a significant number of vehicles insured and licensed. The report outlined 3,920 cars from 2021, 6,029 from 2022, 5,624 from 2023, and 9,294 from 2024, along with one vehicle from 2025.

Regarding private cars, 8,249 were licensed, including 246 from 2021, 539 from 2022, 1,941 from 2023, and 5,522 from 2024. Motorcycles numbered 14,538, with varying figures for different model years. Transport vehicles totaled 1,231, with varying numbers across model years.

In terms of brands, Mercedes led with 863 cars, followed by Chevrolet (790), Kia (733), Hyundai (711), Chery (648), Toyota (559), MG (492), Skoda (400), Volkswagen (386), and Nissan (363).

The report highlighted a rising interest in electric vehicles, with 501 cars insured and licensed in February. Volkswagen accounted for 214, with ED4 leading among Volkswagen cars. BYD recorded 79 cars, including 41 Song Plus models, while Mercedes received 38 cars. BMW sold 31 cars, with Tesla achieving 28.
