56% Decline in Imported Truck Sales in Egypt in Q1 2024
Sales of locally assembled trucks dipped to 2.4K in Q1 2024, down 5.8% from 2.6K in Q1 2023, per AMIC.
Imported trucks saw a sharp drop to 392 units from 890, a 56% decrease.
Chevrolet led Q1 2024 truck sales with 2.1K units (75.9% market share),
followed by Mitsubishi at 246 units (8.5% market share),
and Toyota at 229 units (7.9% market share).
MCV/Mercedes claimed fourth place with 92 units (3.2% market share),
while Suzuki slipped to fifth with 50 units (1.7% market share).
Hyundai, Volvo, GMC, and Shacman followed in the ranking.
Overall, truck sales across categories fell by 18% in Q1 2024 to 2.8K units compared to 3.5K units in Q1 last year.
